Ski Team Oi-Qaragai – on snow, grass, and asphalt. A ski sports club at the marathon.
On 1 June, the First President’s Park hosted the charitable children’s race Minimarathon.kz Kids Day - an event that has, for over five years, brought together running and healthy lifestyle enthusiasts, families with children, and everyone who believes that movement means joy and health.
Our ski club, Ski Team Oi-Qaragai, was among the participants in this large-scale event! Our young athletes took on a 4.2 km course.
“It was important for us to support this meaningful sports event, especially on such a special day - International Children’s Day. Our club often trains in the First President’s Park, and we believe it’s important to set an example for the younger generation,” said Vsevolod Borzenkov, Manager of Ski Team Oi-Qaragai.
The main mission of the mini-marathon is to inspire as many people as possible, especially children, to fall in love with running and make it a part of their lives. A key highlight was the participation of 60 children with special needs. For some of them, this was their first experience of being part of a major sporting event.
This run is a reminder that all great journeys in life begin with small steps. For our team, it wasn’t just a race - it was an opportunity to show other children that sport can be fun and exciting.
